Look at all the world that is in front of you and think about how beautiful and perfect things are? It’s that feeling of ease, love, beauty and harmony; all at once.
Creative bliss is different for everyone, for creative time, relaxation and inspiration comes to people in all different ways. It is important to know what your creative bliss is, or at least the key points of life that inspire you.
If you are not sure, I will give you an example of what a scenario might be like…
I am on a very comfy couch on my screened in deck. The deck has a beautiful picturesque view of orchards and the lake below. It is fresh out, for it is currently raining. The drops of water and the birds are making the most interesting sounds all around me. I am watching the clouds rolling in, while drinking a very yummy Caramel Macchiato from the cute local coffee shop a few minutes down the road. I have one of my favorite candles burning. The scent smells like summer. My adorable fat cat is with me, sitting so close next to me that I am almost squishing her. I am reading a book and feeling an overall lightness and inspiration in my heart. In a situation like this, this is where true inspired thought comes to me. This is my creative bliss…
Now for someone else it will be very different. One might like to be at a down town coffee shop, watching the people and cars rush by them as they work on their computer. The colours of the city creatively distracting them. They love hearing the noises and love listening in on people’s conversations. Thinking up big ideas, big creations; writing them all down in a new notebook tat you find inspiring and thought provoking.
If you are not sure about what your creative bliss is, think about the last time you were creatively inspired? Were you strumming your guitar? Were you on a walk through a forest? Were you in an art gallery? Start putting the pieces together to map out your creative bliss equation. When you are aware of your equation, it is so easy to pull from it, or to take yourself there when it is time to get inspired again. It is also where your creative genius is most at home.
Now, don’t get me wrong, some people can feel creative just about anywhere they go; however so many people really need to connect to their creative genius by finding their personal ‘creative bliss’. If you are one of these people that need a little bit of direction or organization when it comes to your creative mind set, find yourself a creative zone to get into. I would like to encourage you to think about the topic of your ‘creative bliss’ until you know what yours is. If you are not easily inspired, or you don’t remember the last time you felt your creative genius come alive, then start with the last time you felt happy (or whatever it was that simply made you smile). If you cannot remember the last time you smiled… then write down some simple things that would make you smile. You can build off of this! Start writing down the elements to your ‘creative bliss’ inspiring setting.
Your creative bliss settings don’t have to be detailed like mine, you just need to know what makes you feel good and inspired in those moments. Is it the setting? Is it the tea you are drinking out of your creative mug? Is it the view from your window? The fact that you are sitting with your dog or cat? All of these points can be major pieces to your creative bliss equation.
To help you get started, here is another possible creative bliss that someone could have…
You are at your home in the country, outside in a field near your home. Fall is your favorite time of year and the leaves have just started to come off the trees. It is the evening time and the sun is warm against your face. You have always loved that field, for the tall white Birch trees look so stunning blowing in the breeze. You love to work on your short story writing outside for nature means so much to you. You use a special pen that your grandfather gave you for your writing. Outside, at this time of year, this time of day; your creative genius is activated for you. You feel happy, at peace and inspired to create your life with certainty. You are now in your ‘creative bliss’!
I would love to know what your CREATIVE BLISS is in the comments.
