Your personal perspective is what keeps you stuck in the “creativity lacking” groove. The truth is, for those people who are open to receiving inspiration from life around them, a creative and more enriching life comes easier to them. If you are having trouble finding inspiration in your day to day… start with the simple things.
Look at the way the evening sun goes down upon the leaves of a Birch tree.
Listen to the white crisp snow under your feet.
Gaze in appreciation at the way the morning haze hangs around the mountains.
Look at how the sun shines upon your arm.
See the birds sit upon the wire outside speaking to one another as if in a large meeting.
Allow yourself a time of quiet to brush upon you every day. In these moments allow yourself to be open to new thoughts that come to you, opening your mind to new directions and ideas. In these moments, you are allowing yourself to just BE. More often than not, people find that their colorful and enlightened thoughts come to them in times of stillness and quiet… not the loud shrill noises of the grid-lock traffic. Take personal time every day.
Simply take the time that will allow yourself to be open to receiving inspiration.
How are you spending your free time or your breaks?
Do you remember when you used to play outside, build forts, play sports, read books? Everything these days seems to revolve around something powered… or plugged in. People are spending their time outdoors less and less… But why? This generation of children are glued to the TV, gaming systems, computers or whatever else keeps them lost within their world of technology. Technology is something that we now cannot live without, but it also is ruining us as human beings. The more time people spend inside, the more they spend on their phones, TVs, computers, i pads, and everything else that can take them away from the present moment. The more non-physical entertainment people are engaging in indoors, the more dependent on it and unhealthier they become… and so on.
So why should you be making an extra effort to get you (and your entire family) spending time outdoors…?
- The outdoors increases your creativity!
- Nature is one of the best places to relieve stress and gain clarity.
- Outdoors you receive more oxygen, so naturally your energy and enthusiasm increases.
- Spending time in nature (and in the presence of animals), increases a child’s patience, kindness and understanding towards nature and the natural world.
- The outdoors naturally increases your mood! It is a scientific term called Bio-philia that suggests that human beings spending time in natural settings, increases overall well-being.
- Get healthy! Nature boosts your immune system.
- The outdoors can help you become more physically fit. Outside has the space and provides in inspiration to take walks, go on runs, play games, participate in sports, etc.
